With reference to my secret
despatch of yesterday, I have the honour to
inform you that Mr. Sun Fo arrived in Hongkong
to-day, having travelled from Shanghai in a ship other than that which brought Mrs. Sun, who is not his mother, being the second wife of the
late Dr. Sun Yat-sen. He called at Government
House and took tea with me, bringing with him General Ng T'it-sheng. There were also present Mr. A.G.M.Fletcher (who leaves for Ceylon tomorrow
Mr. E.R.Hallifax (who will suceed Mr. Fletcher
as acting Colonial Secretary), Sir Shou-son Chow
and Mr. R.H.Kotewall.

We had a very friendly conversation. lir. Sun Fo told me that he proceeds toCanton tomorrow; that he still regards himself as being a member of the present Canton Government, from which he was absent on leave during his stay in Shanghai, and that he expects to resume the post of "Minister of Reconstruction" in the Kuang-tung Province. He spoke as if he had been out of touch with Cantonese affairs for some time and he certainly was not au fait with the
